Deviation Road Wines

Lazy Sundays and especially lazy sunny winter Sundays just beg for an afternoon of relaxation with a glass of wine.

Now finding that one of our favourite wineries has been named by 2022 Halliday Wine Companion best sparking wine, what more excuse did we need to head up to Longwood for an afternoon.

We are regulars to Deviation Rd and this hidden gem still finds us a table most Sunday’s though we’ve always been lucky. We’d highly recommend that you book a table though, just to be sure. A fine wine and maybe a nibble with a grazing plate have always seen us right, and a couple of hours certainly hits the spot.

We’ve come to taste the 2014 Beltana Blanc De Blanc. A glass for both of us to savour. I’d say that it’s a special occasion wine if you splurge for the bottle. Perhaps a birthday gift. She’s a pricey number but some things in life are worth it. For a glass at $25 a piece, well you gotta do what you gotta do!

I loved it and he did too. A quiet afternoon people watching, plotting and planning our next escape.

Usually you will find us with a bottle of the Field Blend or their famous Sauvignon Blanc and a plate of home made arrancini. Never disappoints.

Deviation Road Winery are open every day from 10am-5pm. Booking recommended
